Bound for Borneo!

by Jeepney Projects on February 1st, 2013

BorneoAlways the most exciting of moments – the anticipation of upcoming adventure!  Jeepney Projects Worldwide will be heading off to mysterious Borneo at the end of February for two weeks of exploration in the north of that island.  We will move through the great forests, mountains and rivers of the Malaysian state of Sabah, on the lookout for such amazing creatures as the Clouded Leopard, Borneo Bristlehead, Sumatran Rhino, Great Argus, Pygmy Elephant, Hornbills a’plenty, and one of the true Great Apes of the world, the Orang-utan!   And, while we are expecting to encounter great beauty, we also anticipate witnessing troubling problems such as rampant deforestation and hard damage to wildlife, including the recent heartbreaking discovery of many poisoned pygmy elephant.  We at Jeepney will of course keep open minds, but vigilant eyes as well.  We will journey to Kota Kinabalu, the Crocker Range, Mount Kinabalu, Sepilok, the Kinabatangan River, Gomantong Caves, Lahad Datu, and the beautiful rainforest of Danum Valley!  We will submit reports from the field – stay tuned.  Excelsior!
